I’ve spent far more hours watching dogs than asking them to look at my camera.
I grew up with dogs, and I honestly can’t remember a time without one by my side. When my husband and I started our own family, the first thing we did was welcome Mila into it. She grew up with our kids, moved with us from Germany to Tennessee, and stayed by our side for 18 wonderful years. Today, our home is full of life again with our Belgian Malinois, Zoe.
Living with dogs my entire life, training them, and spending countless hours learning how they communicate has taught me something that’s just as important as photography — understanding their body language. Dogs tell us exactly how they’re feeling if we know what to look for.
I never rush a session or expect your dog to be perfect. I’ll give them time to explore, sniff, play, and get comfortable. I work at their pace, earning their trust before I ever ask for anything.
When dogs feel safe and relaxed, that’s when their real personality comes through.

A dog photography session that feels like your dog.
We work with their personality.
Your dog doesn’t need to sit perfectly and stare at the camera. If they want to run, we photograph them running.
Safety comes first.
Leashes, long lines, treats, breaks, and location choices are all part of the process. Your dog does not have to be off leash to get beautiful photographs. For more on reading dog body language, the American Kennel Club’s dog body language guide is a useful resource.
You get more than a phone snapshot.
I photograph movement, expressions, details, interaction, and the little behaviors that make your dog recognizable.
Your photographs can become artwork.
Your favorite images can become wall art, including metal prints, framed artwork, and other professional print options.

Let’s talk.
We’ll talk about your dog, their personality, what you want photographed, and what kind of session makes sense. Once you’ve chosen the collection that fits, I’ll send over the contract and invoice. Your date is reserved when the retainer is paid.
Session day.
You relax and enjoy your dog while I guide the session. We work at their pace, give them breaks when they need them, and photograph the things that happen naturally.

After your images are professionally edited, you’ll receive your private gallery. We’ll choose your favorite photographs and talk through the options for enjoying them digitally or as artwork.

Questions about your session.
Will my dog be okay on a leash?
Absolutely. Safety comes first. Leashes and long lines are welcome, and they can often be edited out of the finished photographs.
My dog is getting older. Should I wait?
I wouldn’t wait. Senior dogs can have a slower session with plenty of breaks and less walking.
Can we do more than sitting portraits?
Yes. Running, playing, walking, exploring, and interacting with you can all be part of the session.
What if my dog is wild, shy, or doesn’t listen?
That’s okay. I give dogs time to settle in and adjust the session around their personality and body language.
Can I include more than one dog?
Yes. We’ll plan the session around the number of dogs and what you’d like photographed with each one.
Where do you photograph dog sessions?
I’m based in Cleveland, Tennessee and photograph throughout Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and the Southeast. Sessions are outdoors at locations that work well for your dog.
