Horsewoman, dog lover, and photographer — I know that the best photographs come from understanding the animal in front of my camera.
I’ve been a horsewoman long before I became a photographer. I’ve shown, worked alongside trainers and riders, and had the opportunity to learn from incredible horsemen and horsewomen in both Germany and the United States. My background includes dressage as well as reining, cutting, and other western performance horses.
That experience taught me how to read a horse — how they move, react, carry themselves, and those little details that can make the difference between a good photograph and a great one.
Dogs have been just as much a part of my life. I grew up with them, have always loved learning about their behavior and personalities, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know every dog I photograph.
Whether I’m photographing a horse or a dog, my goal is simple: To know your animal well enough to catch the moments other people might miss.
